ALMA Communications is pleased to announce that Donyel Ivy-Royal and Tania Franco Klein, represented by their clients Jack Shainman Gallery and Yancey Richardson, have been named to The Artsy Vanguard 2027: Artsy's annual celebration of ten of the most promising emerging artists working today. Selected from more than 900 nominations submitted by galleries around the world, the artists represent a new generation of creative voices shaping the future of contemporary art.
Now in its ninth year, The Artsy Vanguard recognizes artists whose innovative practices are expanding the possibilities of contemporary art across painting, sculpture, photography, installation and other mediums. As part of the cohort, both artists will be featured in a new ten-part video series offering an intimate look at their creative practices, studios and the communities that inform their work.
This year's edition marks the introduction of the Artsy Vanguard Acquisition Prize, presented in partnership with the Brooklyn Museum. A jury of art world leaders will review all ten Vanguard artists and choose a winner whose work will enter the museum's permanent collection. The jury consists of Anne Pasternak, Shelby White and Leon Levy director, the Brooklyn Museum; Adam D. Weinberg, Alice Pratt Brown director emeritus, the Whitney Museum of American Art; Glenn Fuhrman, collector and founder of The FLAG Art Foundation and trustee of the Museum of Modern Art; and Kasseem 'Swizz Beatz' Dean, producer, collector and cofounder of the Dean Collection.
