Delta Bridges Travel, Design and Culture with Special "Flow State" Flight Experience

Recent data indicates that in an increasingly online world, in-person experiences feel more meaningful than ever. But leaving the digital noise behind to arrive truly inspired requires a real mindset shift.

To help bridge this gap, Delta Air Lines recently designed a first-of-its-kind creative travel experience ahead of Copenhagen's iconic 3daysofdesign festival to celebrate 35 years of Delta service to Copenhagen.

What happened:

  • The first-ever FlowState Flight: Delta launched a specialty Flow State Flight from JFK to Copenhagen, intentionally designed to help travelers enter an optimized, mindful state so creative thinking could begin the moment they touched down.
  • How it worked in the air: Unplugging & tuning in
    • Flow State Essentials: Customers were given a Flow State Essentials collection featuring Loop Earplugs, Grown Alchemist hand cream, and a Brick distraction-free tool
    • In-Flight Programming: Travelers engaged with analog drawing and doodling supplies, a guided group meditation, and complimentary Thrive Farmers Tea blends. They also received a three-month Calm Premium subscription to extend their flow state post-flight.
  • How it worked on the ground: The Flow State Lounge
    • The Space: Delta partnered with 3daysofdesign and Copenhagen-based designer Yasmin Edgecombe to transform the KLUB Symposium Courtyard into an oasis of Scandinavian simplicity. Using sleek furniture from Danish manufacturer Bolia, Edgecombe used tactile textures, intentional lighting, and lush planting to create a warm, atmospheric haven.
    • Programming: The courtyard hosted morning Tōsei coffee demonstrations and afternoon guided meditations, offering a moment of calm and focus away from the city's hustle and bustle. Delta also provided conversation cards to spark dialogue and idea sharing among attendees. The adjacent "Entering the Now" Symposium brought the heat with major design talks by global icons such as Paola Antonelli, Yinka Ilori and Alice Rawsthorne.
  • Why now: The shift to immersive authenticity
    • Attendance at immersive, design-forward gatherings has surged globally. Modern inspiration-seekers are actively looking for spaces to disconnect from screens and reconnect with tangible craft, community and fresh ideas.
