Aahaasa Collection Introduces Aarogya, with Multi-Day Wellness Retreats and Rituals Across Sri Lanka

Aahaasa Collection announces the relaunch of its Aarogya Spa & Wellness multi-day wellness retreats, a series of structured programmes focusing on doctor-led Ayurvedic and Aromatherapy inspired by the island’s essences, now available at Aarunya Nature Resort in the Central Highlands and Aavya Cove Villas on the southwest coast. Aadya Tea Bungalows, in Hatton, will initially focus on in-bungalow spa and wellness rituals later this year.

The launch introduces a carefully curated portfolio of bookable programmes designed for stays of three to 21 nights, combining consultation-led Ayurveda, including a pre-arrival online consultation and in-person consultations and follow-ups with the Ayurveda doctor, two hours of daily treatments, one hour of daily yoga, meditation, and tailored nutrition. Each retreat is structured as a complete process, allowing time for rest, detoxification, and measurable improvement in overall balance. The retreats can be tailored to the guests' personal needs and preferences, and can be booked online for any duration from three nights on the property websites.

Path to Holistic Wellbeing

Aarogya is an immersive wellbeing journey inspired by the natural essence of Sri Lanka and the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda. Thoughtfully designed to restore equilibrium, realign energy, and reconnect guests with the island’s rhythms, it offers a deeply grounding and transformative experience.

Rooted in ancient Ayurvedic principles and elevated through personalised rituals, mindful therapies, and doctor-led consultations, Aarogya’s wellness retreats are both restorative and refined. Each programme is guided by an experienced Ayurvedic physician, with a background at Sri Lanka’s leading luxury wellness hotels and Aman, ensuring a balance of clinical integrity and exceptional hospitality. Carefully tailored to the individual, every journey focuses on harmonising body, mind, and energy.

Set within environments shaped by nature and intentional design, guests are invited into a slower, more conscious rhythm, one that fosters deep relaxation, sustainable wellbeing, and authentic rejuvenation.

Guided by Aahaasa’s philosophy of “well-leisure,” Aarogya moves beyond conventional wellness travel. It is designed for those drawn to a conscious rhythm of living, where restoration is not prescribed but revealed gradually through ritual, landscape, time, and culture. Each AAHAASA property is conceived as a hybrid haven where refined leisure meets conscious wellbeing, a concept we define as Well-leisure.

At the heart of every destination lies Aarogya Spa & Wellness by AAHAASA, guided by a signature holistic philosophy rooted in Ayurveda and Aromatherapy. Treatments are intuitive yet structured, indulgent yet purposeful, designed not only to soothe, but to rebalance and restore.

Aromatherapy Spa Inspired by the Natural Essence of Sri Lanka

Each destination has a Spa that draws inspiration from the natural essence of the island. Through these elemental inspirations, Aarogya becomes more than a wellness offering; it becomes a sensory dialogue with Sri Lanka itself.

At Aarunya Nature Resort, treatments are grounded in the richness of the land: spice, earth, and elevation inform every ritual. While experiences at Aavya Cove Villas are elemental: salt, fruit, and ocean air shape therapies with coastal vitality. At Aadya Tea Bungalows, Hatton (tea country), the Aromatherapy in Bungalow treatments are inspired by tea and flowers of the tea estates.

Ayurveda at Aarogy

Rooted in the ancient healing traditions of Sri Lanka, Ayurveda at Aarogya is a deeply personalised journey that works to balance the body, mind, & spirit. Guided by experienced practitioners, treatments are tailored to individual constitutions (doshas), combining herbal remedies, therapeutic oils, & time-honoured rituals to restore harmony from within.

Drawing on the island’s rich natural pharmacopeia, each experience is designed not only to heal, but to cultivate lasting wellbeing and inner vitality.

Ayurvedic Rituals

Following the Ayurveda discipline, the Aarogya wellness retreats draw on a core set of Ayurvedic therapies, delivered as part of an integrated treatment plan.

  • Abhyanga: full-body massage using warm, herb-infused oils to support circulation, ease muscular tension, and promote overall balance.
  • Shirodhara: continuous pouring of warm, medicated oil across the forehead, used to calm the nervous system and support mental clarity and sleep.
  • Pinda Sweda: application of heated herbal poultices to relieve stiffness, improve circulation, and address joint and inflammatory conditions.
  • Udwartana: herbal powder massage performed in upward strokes to stimulate circulation, exfoliate the skin, and support metabolic balance.
  • Vasti: localised oil-retention therapies, where warm medicated oils are held on specific areas of the body - such as the lower back, neck, or joints - to address targeted discomfort and structural imbalances.

For longer or medically guided stays, selected retreats may also incorporate Panchakarma, Ayurveda’s traditional system of internal detoxification, administered under physician supervision.

Complementing the structured retreats, both properties offer a comprehensive à la carte spa menu, providing access to signature Aromatherapy and Ayurveda treatments and therapeutic rituals for guests seeking shorter-form experiences.

"These programmes are designed as complete, multi-day processes, however we have built in flexibility to tailor to the individual guests' needs and preferences, from the selection of Ayurveda or Aromatherapy to gourmet meals guided by the doctor and executive chef, and durations from 3 nights to as long as the guest wishes,” said Nath Rankothge, founder of Aahaasa Collection. “The emphasis is on achieving holistic wellbeing, a return to balance, through spa & wellness approaches with subtlety and depth, with gentle care, in exceptional natural settings."
