The award-winning Marea Restaurant, created by leading hospitality firm Altamarea Group, announces the extension of its residency at The Snow Lodge, located within The St. Regis Aspen Resort. Marea at The Snow Lodge will re-open its doors to guests on June 8th, and will remain a part of Aspen’s bustling dining scene throughout the 2026/2027 winter season.
“We are delighted by the success of our first winter season in Aspen at The St. Regis Aspen Resort, where Marea resonated deeply with both the local community and visiting guests. Given the strong demand and continued momentum, extending into the summer is a natural next step—allowing us to welcome new guests and present Marea through a different seasonal lens in Aspen. The market has proven to be an exciting opportunity for us as we continue to grow and evolve the Marea brand globally”, shares Ahmass Fakahany, Founder & CEO, Altamarea Group.
For Aspen’s summer season, Marea Brand Executive Chef PJ Calapa presents a bright new selection of dishes created exclusively for the mountain outpost in the region's most verdant seasons. Highlights include Ricciola (hamachi, Palisades peaches, hamachi, chillies), Moleche (soft shell crab, Rocky Ford melons, prosciutto, basil), and Marea’s iconic Lobster Roll. Marea’s classic expressions remain represented, from pristine crudi and hand-rolled pastas to luminous seafood compositions, including the renowned fusilli pasta—a decadent pairing of octopus and bone marrow—and astice, butter-poached lobster with soft burrata.
On the evolution of Aspen’s seasonal menu, Chef Calapa notes: “Our first season in Aspen was an exciting opportunity to introduce Marea’s cuisine in the mountains, and the response exceeded expectations. Moving into the summer allows us to continue that dialogue with guests in a different way; lighter, more seasonal expressions of the menu, while staying true to the identity of Marea. It’s a chance to keep building on the energy we created this winter and evolve the experience into a year-round staple.”
The experience is complemented by an award-winning wine program curated by Senior Brand Director, Francesco Grosso, whose cellar bridges Italy’s grand estates with global discoveries. And Marea’s vibrant beverage program will usher in exclusive-to-Aspen cocktails, including the Baciato Dal Sole (limoncello, gentian liqueur, vermouth di torino bianco, club soda) and the Too Bad She’s Bad (choice of gin or mezcal, strawberry campari, sweet vermouth, calabrian chili vecchio amara del capo).
Known globally as the exciting lifestyle destination for exquisite coastal Italian cuisine, Marea first made its mark on Central Park South in New York City, followed by the recent successful launch of Marea Beverly Hills in 2024. The Aspen opening marks Marea’s third U.S. location, bringing the brand’s celebrated elegance, hospitality, and artistry to the heart of the Rockies.
Fifteen years after opening its original doors in New York City, Marea continues to chart the tide of restaurant culture worldwide, finding the intersection of business, art, fashion, and hospitality through its elegant yet approachable style. The Aspen debut brings that same spirit to a new elevation: a place to gather, celebrate, and savor life surrounded by the beauty of the mountains.
