ASTRSK is pleased to share it has opened applications for its 8th annual Pro Bono PR Contest.
Every year, ASTRSK gives one early-stage startup a full year of PR support. No catch. No gimmicks. Just the same level of strategy, storytelling, and media firepower we bring to our paying clients. That’s over $200K in services.
We've got a long way to go, but if everybody did a little something to level the playing field we can change the numbers. Stats from last year show that less than 2% of venture capital goes to women-led startups. LGBTQIA+ founders continue to face real barriers. BIPOC entrepreneurs are still underrepresented in both funding and media. And press matters - it shapes perception, opens doors, and creates momentum.
Since ASTRSK started this, they committed over $1.6M in pro bono work to founders who deserve more visibility. Past winners include Both&, Winx, Juicebox, Hadley, Mimi Cheng’s, and a group of founders who are building genuinely important, culture-shifting companies.
As a firm with an openly gay founder, this one is personal for ASTRSK. They want to see more of those in the industry building, winning, and shaping culture. And want those stories told at the level they deserve.
