Peregrine Hospitality Debuts Pacific Point Resort, Pismo Beach’s Largest Resort on California’s Central Coast

Global hospitality group Peregrine Hospitality will debut Pacific Point Resort this July as an ethereal addition to San Luis Obispo County’s Pismo Beach along California’s Central Coast. Perched 90 feet above the Pacific Ocean where coastal bluffs meet Pismo Preserve, the resort will take the title of the City’s most expansive property once open. The 12-acre, 170-key destination is a reimagining of two legacy properties, Pismo Lighthouse Suites and Shore Cliff Hotel, and centers on the duality of its topography: restorative stillness of the landscape met by the dynamic energy of the sea. With the majority of rooms and suites ocean-facing, the guest experience fosters an intimate connection with the coastline’s local wildlife, from in-room binoculars to an exclusive ‘Whale Watch Dispatch’ service that sends real-time text alerts for whale and dolphin sightings. Rounding out the experience are two pools (including the largest in Pismo Beach), an expansive sun deck and Pacific Market, offering café-style provisions designed for seamless, al fresco dining throughout the property’s grounds.

As the flagship opening in Peregrine’s sweeping $50 million investment across the region, Pacific Point Resort introduces a new caliber of hospitality along the Central Coast and further positions San Luis Obispo County as California’s next premier destination for seaside escapes. Located just off the legendary Highway 1, the resort sits directly along the Pismo Coastal Access Trail, a blufftop path tracing the Pacific. The neighboring Pismo Preserve unfolds across hundreds of acres of protected landscape with miles of hiking and biking trails carved from a former private ranch. Steps away, Pismo Beach (named #1 2026 Small Coastal Town by USA Today 10 Best) embodies the nostalgia of a classic California beach town, where surf shops, saltwater taffy counters, vintage boutiques, and sunset pier strolls recall an earlier era of coastal charm.

With a creative vision led by SFA Design [L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, Miraval Arizona], named on Forbes’ 2026 “Top Hospitality Architects & Designers’ list,” Pacific Point Resort’s design reflects the dialogue between coastal bluffs and the tide. The Shore Cliff guestrooms and suites draw from a 1970s California road trip aesthetic with earthy textures, while the Lighthouse and Ocean House suites reflect the light and movement of the surf with a beach town base camp sensibility.

The lobby is a glass-wrapped atrium with a vaulted wood-paneled ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Pacific. Neutral furnishings and layered textures contrast with ocean blues, while the space doubles as a cultural hub with an interactive wine wall and rotating local art.

The Shore Cliff guestrooms and suites emphasize tactile, terrain-inspired design with vintage lighting, coastal photography, and dune-inspired sculptural details, anchored by a custom wave mural behind the TV, while the Lighthouse and Ocean House Suites offer a more immersive coastal expression with sky-toned ceilings, surf imagery, organic wood details, and hidden surf-inspired armoire interiors that add a sense of discovery.

Guest experiences include a “Whale Watch Dispatch” text alert service, in-room binoculars, and watercolor kits, alongside the Pacific Market offering grab-and-go fare and a sun deck with fire pits and lawn games for communal gathering.

“Pacific Point Resort serves as an extension of the Pismo landscape. We’ve designed the experience so that our guests don’t just visit the coast; they become part of it,” said Heather Stege, Chief Operating Officer, Peregrine Hospitality. “By immersing guests in our marine ecology and local heritage, we’re ensuring they leave as advocates for the region, carrying the spirit of the Central Coast with them long after they depart.”

Beyond the flagship arrival of Pacific Point Resort, Peregrine will also unveil Avila Beach House in July 2026. Tucked away in the region’s sunniest microclimate, between rolling hills and the Pacific’s calmest waters, Avila Beach House is designed to embody a private beach estate without the hassle of owning one. The intimate, 54-suite sanctuary embraces a cottage-like setting, effortlessly blending East Coast nautical charm with West Coast ease, and nodding to Avila’s small-town history, from whitewashed woods to understated touches celebrating its lighthouse heritage. The suites’ aesthetic artfully balances the deep, rhythmic blues of the Pacific with sun-drenched golden accents, grounding the coastal palette with the organic warmth of natural wood and woven textures. Guests are invited to unwind and slow down, whether relaxing on a breezy patio with a glass of local vineyard wine or exploring the surrounding landscape through easy beach access, quiet nature trails, and coastal excursions away from the crowds.

Rounding out the Peregrine Boutique & Lifestyle Collection are Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach, home to the city’s only true beachfront dining, and the landmark Paso Robles Inn, currently undergoing a culinary transformation. The historic property will debut three new dining concepts in 2026 from Michelin-starred Chef Charlie Palmer: Cattlemen’s Bar, a Western, cowboy-inspired bar bringing a legendary 1942 dining institution back to its roots; Salina Rooftop (June), the city’s premier and only rooftop bar inspired by the Salinas River; and The Pass by Charlie Palmer (Fall), a modern tavern with a California soul.
