Following a successful debut last summer, ANNUA Signature Hotels has reopened its intimate estate hotel in the rural heartland of Mallorca, offering an experience defined by landscape, memory, and material — now with new highlights. This season, Son Xotano introduces El Celler, an underground cave restaurant showcasing the island’s finest produce, alongside Pilates and yoga retreats, establishing the estate as a destination for immersive gastronomy and holistic wellbeing.
Located just outside Sencelles, 25 minutes from Palma de Mallorca Airport, the 22-key hotel is surrounded by olive trees, working vineyards, and lavender fields. With the new season, Son Xotano returns as a sanctuary of quiet luxury — reaffirming Annua’s philosophy of design rooted in place and hospitality shaped by stillness.
A Return to the Rhythm of the Land
As summer light spreads across the Mallorcan countryside, Son Xotano reopens in harmony with nature. Lime-washed walls glow in the sun, pergolas cast shifting shadows, and the scent of rosemary and fig drifts through open windows. Co-founder Álvaro Sasiambarrena describes it as “a space that feels like a homecoming,” where every texture, scent, and silence evokes something essential and remembered. Architectural restoration by ClapésPizà and interiors by Virginia Nieto combine historic materials and Mallorcan traditions, creating a sensorial experience rooted in place.
Restful Interiors and Private Retreats
The hotel offers 22 guest rooms and 14 suites, blending natural light, noble materials, and understated elegance. Many rooms open onto private gardens or terraces, with select suites featuring plunge pools, fireplaces, and freestanding bathtubs. Interiors highlight sandstone, pine, linen, and hand-crafted ceramics, while bathrooms include matte brass fixtures and walk-in rain showers. Light animates spaces throughout the day, complementing the estate’s calm, reflective atmosphere.
Seasonal Gastronomy
Dining takes place in El Celler and the vine-covered piazza, where seasonal Mallorcan ingredients are celebrated with contemporary refinement. An open kitchen fosters connection to the culinary team, while poolside terraces and intimate lounges provide relaxed dining and social spaces. Guests can enjoy al fresco lunches, candlelit dinners, or casual poolside meals, all emphasizing seasonality, provenance, and a connection to place.
Rest, Ritual, and Renewal
Wellbeing at Son Xotano is intuitive, with treatments in shaded gardens and pine-sheltered areas designed around stillness and balance. The estate also hosts Pilates and yoga retreats in dedicated spaces, with seasonal practitioners guiding sessions. Set against the tranquil countryside, these offerings invite guests to reconnect with body and place, reflecting the estate’s holistic approach to rest, restoration, and quiet renewal.
