Hachette Book Group (HBG) has created a new role, Executive Director, Client Sales, and Carmen Chan will join the company in this position.
Carmen brings deep experience in client sales strategy, account management, new business development, and publishing operations to Hachette Book Group. In her ten-plus years as Director for Client Sales and Strategy at Penguin Random House Publisher Services, Carmen worked on multi-million-dollar client relationships, drove demand forecasting and sales planning, and partnered with her clients to drive marketing initiatives. She analyzed the marketplace landscape to ensure sales and client expectations were aligned and positioned to support year over year growth.
Throughout her career, Carmen has been known for bridging sales, operations, and production—managing complex projects from planning through execution and delivering tailored solutions. She most recently applied those strengths at printer and book packaging company TOPPAN Merrill, working cross-functionally with Publishers across global markets.
In this new role, Carmen will partner with Hachette’s Sales Channel leads to grow Client sales across all channels, help implement a best-in-class onboarding experience, and focus on expanding Hachette’s Client portfolio alongside our business development team. Carmen’s first day at HBG will be February 17th and she will report directly to me.
