Hachette Book Group is pleased to announce Aya Elamroussi as its new Director of Communications. She will support the communications strategy with emphasis on internal and external communications across the organization, ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, and brand expression across platforms. Aya will manage executive, diversity, equity, and inclusion communications; corporate social responsibility and social impact messaging; and digital communications, while partnering closely with leadership on key initiatives, events, and strategic engagement efforts. 

In this role, Aya will serve as one of HBG’s lead storytellers, advancing the company’s mission to make it easy for everyone to discover new worlds of ideas, learning, entertainment, and opportunity. Her communications work will connect audiences, including employees, partners, media, and more, to the company. This vital work will also support HBG’s Raising Readers initiative.   

Aya most recently served the New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NJ), where she led internal and external communications. A seasoned journalist at CNN, Aya covered major breaking news in the U.S. and internationally, collaborating with teams across continents to deliver impactful coverage to global audiences. Prior to CNN, she reported, wrote news stories, and served as supervising editor for The Associated Press in Chicago. She began her journalism career covering local news for The Jersey Journal, focusing on politics, elections, and breaking news in Hudson County, New Jersey. 

Aya is an accomplished communications professional with experience spanning news reporting, writing, editing, and strategic communications. Her career as a reporter, writer, and strategist reflects a deep commitment to storytelling and excellence.
