Baretto Jazz Bar at Fasano Restaurant Hosts Grammy-Nominated Gilsons for Sold Out Show

Gilsons, the GRAMMY-nominated Brazilian jazz trio headlined by the sons and grandsons of iconic Brazilian musician Gilberto Gil performed to a sold out crowd on Thursday, July 18th at Baretto, the jazz club at Fasano Restaurant. The trio performed hits such as "Várias Queixas," and "Devagarinho" while guests enjoyed cocktails and a menu from Chef Nicola Fedeli. The event was hosted in partnership with American Express Brazil.

This is Gilsons first North American tour, covering venues in the U.S. and Canada. Here in New York, they were due to headline Brasil Fest at Lincoln Center but the show was canceled due to the evening storms. The group made up for time lost with an energetic performance in front of an audience that was brought to their feet for a rousing finale.

The sons and grandsons of the legendary Gilberto Gil formed Gilsons in 2018. The group is the musical partnership of Francisco, João, and José Gil. The trio blends influences of pop rock, samba, reggae, and Bahian rhythms, making references to the classic MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) of their father and grandfather, the legendary Gilberto Gil.
