An LA based position, working out of our West Hollywood support office, the Communications Manager, West Coast will work closely with the NA Communications Director to create and implement communications and public relations activities, principally supporting our west coast properties. The communications manager will be a well-presented, charismatic and creative individual who is highly motivated and will proactively come to the table with ideas, insights and thoughtful input for overall brand objectives. Manager will support the North America Communications Director based in New York City as well as work with the local LA team on press and marketing initiatives.
Working closely alongside the NA Communications Director, responsibilities will include:
Under the guidance of the Communications Director, pitch media placements for ongoing brand objectives.
Play an active role in launch plans for all new projects, assisting with, where necessary, the creation of assets, assembly of invitation lists, launch event planning and subsequent wider outreach.
Support NA Communications Director by proactively bringing ideas to the table to support business needs and fold into the overarching local comms/marketing strategies.
Act as a liaison between local management/operations and the NA Communications Director to ensure goals and action items are aligned.
Own comms/marketing intiatives; work closely with local teams to identify business needs, provide ideas to support these goals and execute 360 strategies which engages press, social and all other marketing channels, as appropriate.
Play an active role in the development and nurturing of media and influencer relationships across the lifestyle, travel, food, fashion and design genres.
Alongside the Communications Director, maintain internal communications and reporting protocols between the in-house Communications team and key stakeholders within the business.
Support the Communications Director and assist with the development of press releases, press kits, bios, media alerts and other relevant materials for use in press outreach.
Under the guidance of the Communications Director, manage and analyze incoming inquiries as well as facilitate details surrounding press requests, photo shoots, etc.
Be the eyes and ears for the communications and marketing teams and report relevant industry news on an on-going basis.
Participate in brainstorms and contribute thoughtful, creative ideas for pitch angles, story ideas, event activations, etc.
Responsible for maintaining updated media databases, weekly reports and other administrative duties.
Personal Profile/Qualifications:
A highly motivated Communications manager with approximately 3 years of agency or in-house experience.
Solid knowledge of the west coast industry and relationships with journalists across the travel, food, fashion, design and general lifestyle media genres; experience with national media a plus.
Proven track record of garnering media placements and generating thoughtful ideas for multi-platform campaigns.
Have a firm understanding of print, digital and social media landscapes.
Experience with managing both intimate and grand scale events, including the development of guest lists and securing press coverage.
Individual should be very detail oriented, organized and dedicated to do what it takes to deliver successful results.
