DESCRIPTION:

About the Role

The PR Net, the premier network for marketing communications professionals, is hiring a Programming & Events Manager to run the day-to-day programming for four of our seven city chapters and our YoungExecs program.

You'll report to our Programming & Special Projects Lead and own events from first idea to final follow-up: building venue partnerships, lining up speakers and partners, and making sure every event runs smoothly.

This role suits someone from PR who wants to move into programming while staying in the industry, or an events professional who already knows the PR and events industries well.

The exact mix of chapters and projects will shift as The PR Net grows, and we expect the role to grow with it.

What You'll Do

Chapter and YoungExecs Programming

  • Run day-to-day programming for four of our city chapters and the YoungExecs program.
  • Liaise with local chapter committees to plan and run events in each city.
  • Work with the Programming & Special Projects Lead to plan each chapter's calendar, then carry it out.
  • Help grow and support chapters as we expand in-person programming, and take on other special projects as needed.

Events

  • Build and manage partnerships with venues. That means keeping up with new and upcoming venue openings and attending venue walkthroughs.
  • Manage logistics end to end: vendors, invites, run-of-show, and on-site management.
  • Work with our tech team member to set up ticketing and other technical needs for each event.
  • Drive attendance through audience development for each event.

Partnerships

  • Pitch and secure sponsors, both financial and in-kind.
  • Recruit speakers, brands, and media partners for events.

Tracking and Reporting

  • Ensure all partner deliverables are actioned and communicated.
  • Gather post-event data and send it to the internal team.
REQUIREMENTS:

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years in a PR or events role.
  • A good understanding of the PR and events industries.
  • Hands-on event management experience and strong knowledge of event production, from venues and vendors to invites and on-site logistics.
  • Comfortable planning and delivering events remotely across multiple cities, coordinating local partners, vendors, and on-site contacts to ensure smooth execution.
  • A track record of building partnerships with venues and sponsors, including negotiating barter and in-kind deals (some budget experience helpful).
  • Highly organized, resourceful problem solver who takes initiative and can juggle several events at once in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong writing, editing, and comprehension skills, with the ability to adapt copy across email marketing, event invitations, partner materials, and internal communications, and to use AI tools effectively while maintaining accuracy and editorial judgment.
  • Experience with event management platforms (we use ZKipster).
  • HubSpot or other CRM experience is a big plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
