DESCRIPTION:

ASTRSK is looking for a Senior Account Executive (SAE) who knows how to find the story, sharpen the angle, and get the right people to pay attention.

Our SAEs are deeply plugged into media across technology, business, consumer, and broadcast. They are strong writers, confident client counselors, persistent pitchers, and generous teammates. This role is ideal for someone ready to take greater ownership of accounts, lead important client and media conversations, and help junior team members become exceptional PR practitioners.

About ASTRSK

Founded in 2012 by Elliot Tomaeno, ASTRSK is an award-winning public relations agency built for high-growth brands, apps, platforms, and funds that are not afraid to stand out.

We are known for sharp storytelling, modern media strategy, and an instinct for the ideas that actually break through. Our work has been recognized by Advertising Age, PRWeek, Forbes, Mashable, and more, and ASTRSK has been named to the PR Net 100 for four consecutive years.

Today, we partner with category-defining and culturally relevant companies ranging from ambitious early-stage startups to globally recognized brands. Our client experience includes Lemonade Insurance, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Sendero, Mojo Supermarket, and leading venture firms, including MaC VC and Betaworks.

We specialize in helping startups navigate breakout moments while supporting established companies as they launch, scale, evolve, and stay relevant. Every account is different, and that is exactly how we like it. One day might involve rebuilding a brand narrative. The next could mean launching a company, coaching a founder, responding to breaking news, or creating a press and influencer event people genuinely want to attend.

ASTRSK operates on a hybrid model, with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays supported by a daily lunch stipend. Team members also receive three dedicated work-from-anywhere weeks each year, holistic benefits, and an unlimited media relationship-building budget.

We value autonomy, curiosity, creativity, good judgment, and trust. Our team is ambitious without taking itself too seriously, strategic without becoming predictable, and committed to doing high-impact work without losing the human side of great PR.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop smart, timely story angles that break through crowded news cycles.
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with reporters, producers, editors, creators, and other media influencers.
  • Pitch media consistently and secure high-impact coverage for clients.
  • Lead client calls, media initiatives, launches, and fast-moving campaign moments.
  • Create the messaging documents, media strategies, pitches, press materials, and briefing documents that guide account work.
  • Review and strengthen written work from Account Executives and Assistant Account Executives.
  • Keep a close pulse on client priorities, leadership teams, business models, and industry developments.
  • Represent ASTRSK at events, meetings, and industry gatherings.
  • Bring energy, ideas, and momentum to every account.
REQUIREMENTS:

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has 3–5 years of relevant PR experience, preferably within an agency.
  • Has experience managing multiple accounts and leading client calls.
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Understands how journalists think, what makes a real story, and how today’s media landscape is evolving.
  • Has a proven track record of securing meaningful media placements across multiple verticals.
  • Brings existing media relationships and is always building new ones.
  • Is a strong, fast writer and thoughtful editor with familiarity with AP Style.
  • Understands the basics of how companies operate and can quickly learn each client’s leadership team, business model, and organizational structure.
  • Is comfortable using PR tools, including Muck Rack, Qwoted, and social platforms.
  • Is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable moving quickly.
  • Wants to lead by example and help junior team members grow.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position based in New York City. Our team works from the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with additional on-site responsibilities as needed.

Salary range:

  • $68,000–$90,000
