Responsibilities
- Assist in managing and updating content on Bookends (company intranet site).
- Support the Digital and Social Media Manager with social media strategy and design, as well as work with the Communications Assistant on incoming requests for book donations to non-profit organizations and educational programs.
- Prepare content for HBG's consumer website (press releases, news archives, ect).
- Help develop publicity initiatives, including researching and building contact databases, and email outreach to event sponsors.
- Design graphics in Canva for website, social media, and marketing purposes.
- Draft content for weekly internal newsletters, quarterly reports, and other internal communications projects.
- An individual interested in exploring a career in media and talent relations, publicity, and corporate communications.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and Social Media.
- Interested in social media, digital communications, and trends.
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills.
- Enthusiastic and excited about discussing recent books you’ve read.
- Possess a great attitude and a curiosity to contribute and learn new things.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic team.
- Resourceful with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and work independently.
- Must be results-driven and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed.
Weekly Schedule
- 28 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- This role is NYC-based and requires a minimum of three set days in the office per week.
Pay Rate
- The compensation for this position is $17.00/hour.
- There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role, exceptional workload issues, or special projects.
As an HBG Digital Communications Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.
