We’re looking for a Vice President, Communications + Growth to lead a focused portfolio of clients: setting strategy, driving earned media momentum, guiding creator/talent activations, and mentoring a small team. This role also includes a relationship-led growth mandate - constant networking, pipeline development, and supporting pitches alongside the CEO (this is not a high-volume SDR role).
Remote (U.S.) | Preference for LA, Denver, or NYC | Occasional travel to conferences & Summits
What You’ll Own Client leadership + strategy:
Own day-to-day account leadership, narrative development (messaging, angles, spokesperson POV), and strategic planning tied to brand + business goals. Earned media + visibility: Lead pitching across consumer/trade/business; build an always-on story pipeline; oversee press releases, media briefs, interview prep, and recaps.
Team leadership + quality: Mentor team members, improve workflow, and raise the bar for writing, pitching, responsiveness, and execution.
Growth + new business: Build qualified pipeline through networking, outbound, and referrals; attend select conferences/summits; support pitches with the CEO; track and nurture leads in CRM. Bonus (Quarterly) Eligible for a quarterly new business bonus tied to qualified pipeline creation and closed-won revenue sourced by this role (paid on collected fees). Targets set collaboratively.
Qualifications: 10+ years PR/communications experience (agency preferred), including earned media and creator/talent activations (paid + earned). Excellent writing, presentation, and client counsel skills. Forward-thinking and adaptable; able to turn new tools/AI into real team/client value. Strong relationship builder and proven people leader with relationships in either NYC or LA; hands-on, steady, and tuned into trends and culture.
Base salary & Bonus Compensation: $120,000–$135,000 (DOE) + Quarterly bonus opportunity tied to growth outcomes
