Job Description

Confidant is looking for a Senior Manager, Corp Comms & Tech to work on fast-paced, global e-commerce and online services tech accounts. This role will assist with news, executive visibility (LinkedIn and media relations), corporate communications, and thought leadership initiatives that leverage news, executives, and trends to promote our clients’ stories across owned, earned, and paid channels. The ideal candidate will have 4 years+ of PR agency or in-house experience supporting work for retail, tech, online services, and e-commerce companies where media relations (strategy AND day-to-day execution) is central to their remit. Prior work with an emerging media platform or creator economy client is a big bonus.

Experience with physical AI, robotics, e-commerce, and/or an emerging media platform (in the creator economy space) is a big bonus, and the strongest candidates will have media contacts across each of these verticals.   Experience driving earned media around key industry trends is critical. Candidates must be excellent writers, confident client partners, and relationship-driven communicators with strong media connections across both traditional and digital consumer and business platforms. The ideal candidate is also facile with AI-powered tools and platforms, and comfortable incorporating them into daily workflows to enhance creativity, efficiency, insights, and measurement. Candidates must also be excellent writers, strong earned media strategists, and have experience placing coverage with both consumer and business media.

Responsabilities

  • Assist with implementing comprehensive communications campaigns with a specific focus on thought leadership, media relations, executive visibility, and corporate storytelling.
  • Help conceptualize, develop, and deliver commercially astute, insightful reputation management, communications, and digital strategies for clients, generating proactive ideas and value beyond the scoped work when appropriate.
  • Assist team leads with developing executive positioning platforms and executive visibility strategies to deploy across paid, earned, owned, and social channels to reach priority stakeholders; strong understanding of digital executive visibility strategy and content (LinkedIn and Instagram).
  • Help manage the day-to-day operations of specific accounts, including the coordination of integrated workstreams, client communication, and team management.
  • Contribute to the agency's new business proposals; participate in new business presentations.
  • Stay ahead of the changing media and creator landscape, nurturing strong relationships with traditional, digital, emerging, and niche outlets; regularly share insights and recommendations with clients and internal teams.
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies (e.g., media intelligence, trend forecasting, content development, reporting, and workflow automation tools) to inform strategy, optimize outreach, streamline processes, and enhance results.
  • Willing and able to fuel and implement fresh thinking, push boundaries, and experiment - always looking for the “wow” factor for clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4+ years’ experience (a mix of agency and in-house experience is welcome) working on technology companies’ corporate stories, including workplace, e-commerce, product development, customer support, consumer research, executive visibility, and thought leadership –both for challenger and established brands.
  • Collaborative spirit, with a strong understanding of how to communicate with teams and the ability to manage internal and external (client) expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven effectiveness in helping drive complex multi-stakeholder planning processes, driving cross-team programs to desired results.
  • Excellent strategic understanding of both traditional and modern corporate communications, integrating strategic planning, analytics, and creative to develop and execute integrated media campaigns.
  • Brings strong media relationships with an emphasis on corporate, business, finance, and technology press, as well as deep experience securing opportunities for clients at top-tier business and industry conferences/events, on speaking panels, and in business membership groups.
  • Understand a variety of research tools and techniques and how to turn research – primary and/or secondary – into client insights, strategies, and tactics across internal and external channels to build reputation and brand trust.
  • Comfortable using AI-driven tools and platforms to support research, trend analysis, media targeting, content development, reporting, and optimization; curiosity to continuously test and adopt new technologies.
  • Stellar communication, writing, and presentation skills.Self-starter, solution-oriented, and an agent of change.
  • Willing to help set strategy and implement, as needed; displays strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work both independently and in a dynamic, high-energy, team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Comfortable working across industries.

Location 

New York metro area-based candidates only. Confidant currently has a flexible, twice/week in-office requirement.

Compensation

The salary for this role is $82K-$95K, commensurate with experience.
