Job Description

Confidant is looking for a Senior Manager, Consumer PR to lead consumer brands across a variety of categories, including food & beverage, CPG, lifestyle, retail/e-commerce and/or travel. The ideal candidate will bring 4+ years of PR agency and/or in-house experience, with a strong track record of work on scrappy earned media programs and creating integrated campaigns for challenger or established consumer brands.

This role will support traditional and emerging media relations, influencer programs, and integrated storytelling, with an emphasis on leveraging the cultural zeitgeist, data-informed insights, and timely trends as catalysts for coverage. The Senior Manager will play a key role in shaping client narratives for earned media, while contributing to overall account leadership.

Candidates must be excellent writers, confident client partners, and relationship-driven communicators with strong media connections across both traditional and digital platforms. The ideal candidate should be facile with AI-powered tools and platforms, and comfortable incorporating them into daily workflows to enhance creativity, efficiency, insights, and measurement.

Responsabilties

  • Develop and lead earned-first, integrated media strategies aligned with clients’ business objectives, generating proactive ideas and value beyond the scoped work when appropriate.
  • Translate client goals into compelling narratives, campaigns, and moments that break through culturally and commercially.
  • Deliver informed strategic recommendations grounded in best-in-class consumer PR practices, performance insight,s and evolving media behaviors.
  • Stay ahead of the changing media and creator landscape, nurturing strong relationships with traditional, digital, emerging, and niche outlets; regularly share insights and recommendations with clients and internal teams.
  • Serve as a day-to-day client lead or deputy, building trust through clear communication, thoughtful counsel, and strong execution.
  • Proactively anticipate client needs, manage priorities across multiple accounts, and keep concurrent workstreams moving efficiently.
  • Oversee day-to-day account operations, including integrated workflow coordination, team management, timelines, and quality control.
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies (e.g., media intelligence, trend forecasting, content development, reporting, and workflow automation tools) to inform strategy, optimize outreach, streamline processes, and enhance results.
  • Partner with influencer, social, and paid media teams to support creator partnerships and paid media integrations that complement earned efforts.
  • Participate in new business development, including pitch strategy, ideation, writing, and presentations.
  • Contribute to team growth by fostering collaboration and upholding Confidant’s culture of creativity, curiosity, and accountability.
  • Willing and able to fuel and implement fresh thinking, push boundaries, and experiment - always looking for the “wow” factor for clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4+ years of relevant experience (agency and/or in-house) developing and executing consumer PR programs for established or challenger brands.
  • Strong strategic understanding of modern consumer communications, integrating earned media, influencers, social, paid amplification, analytics, and creative storytelling.
  • Proven ability to develop media strategies and maintain deep, trusted relationships with consumers, lifestyle, trade, and emerging media.
  • Experience delivering programs that drive measurable impact, from awareness and engagement to consideration and conversion.
  • Comfortable using AI-driven tools and platforms to support research, trend analysis, media targeting, content development, reporting, and optimization; curious to continuously test and adopt new technologies.
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to manage both internal teams and client expectations effectively.
  • Experience translating research and insights—primary and/or secondary—into actionable strategies and compelling narratives.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor communication for different audiences.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced, high-energy environment; able to work independently while thriving as part of a team.

Location

  • New York metro area-based candidates only.
  • Confidant currently has a flexible, twice/week in-office requirement.  

Compensation

The salary for this role is $82K-$95K, commensurate with experience.
