The Central Park Conservancy held its Annual Gala in Central Park. This year’s theme, “Fortune’s Fête,” set the mystical and magical tone for the more than 400 guests gathered under the tent at Rumsey Playfield. The celebration, generously presented by Harry Winston, Inc., raised over $1.2M in support of the Conservancy’s mission to maintain Central Park as a respite for the pace and pressures of city life for all New Yorkers and visitors.
Betsy Smith, President and CEO of the Central Park Conservancy, was joined by event co-chairs Evelyn & David McCabe, Melanie & Matthew McLennan, Gillian & Sylvester Miniter, Mo Sakurai & Harry Taylor, Conservancy trustees and donors. Guests included Judy Hart Angelo, Stacey Bronfman, Rick Cotton, Kate & Andrew Davis, Kat Dines, Alessia & Fe Fendi, Tracey & Craig Huff, Sharon Jacob, Kitty & Tom Kempner, Stacey & Shamin Kwon, Jill & Barry Lafer, Nile Lundgren, Amy Miller Madry, Susan Magrino, Nelly Moudime, Lynn Novick, Yesim & Dusty Philip, Jenny Price, Lilah Ramzi, and Ingrid von Ahn.
“The Fall Gala is a wonderful moment to celebrate the deep affection and loyalty our friends and patrons feel about Central Park. It is a special occasion for us all to toast the gift that the Park is to all New Yorkers,” said Betsy Smith, President and CEO of Central Park Conservancy.
Attendees enjoyed dinner, dancing, palm readings, and thematic cocktails provided by William Grant & Sons. Abigail Kirsch provided the evening’s catering, while DeJuan Stroud was responsible for the entrancing atmosphere and decor.
Following dinner, the Central Park Conservancy’s Young Associates gathered for festive dessert and dancing, co-chaired by Zachary Weiss, Jeremy A. Batoff, Eric Goldie, Rebecca Malizia and Beverly Nguyen. Young Associates guests included Brittany Beyer Harwin, Sam Dangremond, Genevieve Davis, Isiah Magsino, Ian Malone, Megan Melbourne, Serena Miniter, Sam & Molly Moorkamp, and Megan Zuckerman who reveled in music and entertainment from On the Move Entertainment, and an after party at Casa Tua within The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel.
Essential to the Conservancy’s mission, the Fall Gala is among the organization’s annual events dedicated to ensuring Central Park remains an icon of New York City and the world: clean, accessible and beloved by New Yorkers and visitors alike.
