David Droese and Lance Raney, founders of Droese Raney, welcomed an intimate group of family, friends and fans to celebrate the launch of Droese Raney x Design, a volume of their work in partnership with ORO Editions (Andrea Monfried Editions) at The Conservatory in Dallas’ Highland Park Village.

Hosted by The Conservatory’s founder, Brian Bolke on December 13, guests were greeted with Champagne and Casa Dragones Tequila cocktails, with culinary bites by Art2Catering.

Droese, Raney and Bolke welcomed guests including Kimberly and Justin Whitman, Todd Fiscus, Missy and Tim Peck, Jan and Jim Showers, Kasey Lemkin, Reed Robertson, Lynsey and Seth Eaton, Will Droese, Henry Droese, Suzanne Droese, Chandra North, Faisal Halum, Meghan Looney, and Francisco Moreno. Each guest took home a personalized, signed copy of Droese Raney x Design.

Released in December 2023, renowned architecture/design writer and critic Ian Volner worked closely with Droese Raney’s founders, David Droese and Lance Raney, to tell the stories of some of the firm’s most interesting and noteworthy work. The 16 projects featured in Droese Raney x Design include retail outlets for CFDA-designer Billy Reid, The Conservatory, and Neighborhood Goods, each highlighting a distinct, individualized brand; urban redevelopments such as Good-E and 2800 Main, which transform dilapidated historic structures into lively commercial and entertainment zones; and restaurants including José and Mi Cocina, which bring artisanal traditions to contemporary venues. Especially notable are Forty Five Ten, a four-story department store appointed entirely in Knoll furniture and textiles, and the Warehouse, a 31,000-square-foot space for art exhibition and storage. Also included are the firm’s offices, which serve as a design laboratory, which also houses Droese and Raney’s vast collections of furnishings, fixtures, and finds.

Interspersed between the projects are five first-person narratives from Droese Raney’s noted clients and collaborators, as well as a sixth with the “insider view” from the firm itself. Included in the six inserted booklets are international art collector Howard Rachofsky, retail impresario Brian Bolke, award-winning creative director Dorothy Cosonas, fashion designer Billy Reid, and ceramic maestro José Noé Suro. All recount their entertaining behind-the-scenes tales of working with the architects.

Droese Raney x Design is available at retailers nationwide and on Amazon.com. For more information, contact Droese Public Relations or visit droeseraney.com.
