To celebrate the grand opening of its New York City flagship, TAG Heuer hosted a cocktail reception and seated dinner joined by LVMH leadership and celebrities on the rooftop of a hidden penthouse, just steps away from the new boutique. The summer soiree served as both a celebration of the new boutique as well as the highly anticipated Carrera Skipper – the relaunch of a “holy grail” collector’s piece that has made waves since its introduction in 1968.
At the penthouse in homage to Skipper and the watchmaker’s 'Technique Avant-Garde', guests discovered interventions throughout the space designed as abstractions of the ocean. Key moments include a linear installation of nautical rope within the architectural interior, and a rooftop pavilion of blue ombré textiles that guests moved through to arrive at their al-fresco dinner amidst the golden light of the dusk city skyline. Throughout the evening, string quartet “New York Virtuosi” performed live covering modern pop songs. TAG Heuer guests closed out the celebration with an afterparty at Cipriani’s Socialista.
