Van Wyck & Van Wyck founders and siblings Bronson van Wyck and Mimi van Wyck marked the height of Ibiza’s 2026 summer season with a Pharaohs Ball at Sa Pedrera, a former stone quarry in Sant Antoni. The celebration brought together the total solar eclipse of August 12, Mimi’s birthday, and the anniversary of Cleopatra’s legendary final act, transforming the quarry into an intergalactic Egyptian-inspired discothèque.

More than 400 guests traveled from around the world for the celebration, including Charlotte Tilbury, André Balazs, Adrien Brody, Frédéric Arnault, Anthony Vaccarello, Eric Schmidt, James Blunt, Olivia Palermo, Riccardo Tisci, and Darren Star, among others.

Teased for weeks through an anonymous Instagram account, pyramid imagery, and illustrated invitations, the event transformed Sa Pedrera into a lost Egyptian kingdom. Van Wyck and his design team raised a full-scale pyramid modeled on the proportions of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, alongside a sphinx, hand-finished Egyptian columns, mirrored surfaces, liquid metal finishes, and immersive video projections of lava flows, hieroglyphics, Egyptian gods, and animated tomb paintings.

The evening’s entertainment was integrated into the setting, with original performances including Inundation Cycle, inspired by the annual flooding of the Nile, and The Triumph of Ra, depicting the sun at the center of a triumphal procession. Nicki French appeared as Selene, goddess of the moon, while Kimberly Nichole, Sophie and the Giants, and Ronia Alvarado also performed.

The event’s timing marked the Balearic Islands’ first total solar eclipse in more than a century, with the path of totality crossing the Mediterranean near Ibiza at sunset. Festivities began the evening before with sunset eclipse viewings along Ibiza’s western coast.
