In Water Mill, Devorah Rose and Kaleta Blaffer Johnson hosted an intimate sunset dinner celebrating Sterling Dio of The Studio Mayfair, for an evening exploring Sterling Dio’s gender defiant approach to suiting. Billionaires sat beside artists, queer icons beside literary icons, fashion’s next generation beside the people who have defined it.
Notable attendees included Hari Nef, Sailor Brinkley Cook, Candace Bushnell, Jenny Mollen, Fern Mallis, Peter J. Holt, Lauren Kate Holt, Lilly Hartley, and Gabby Kono, joining hosts Devorah Rose, Kaleta Blaffer Johnson, and Sterling Dio for the summer affair.
Set at a private estate in the Hamptons, the evening toasted Sterling Dio and The Studio Mayfair, a gender defiant bespoke tailoring house disrupting traditional notions of womenswear and modern dressing. Coming from a small Texas town with a population of just over 11,000, Dio’s journey into fashion began in the world of traditional suiting, where she developed a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship of men’s tailored suits.
“I never felt comfortable in a small town but felt most myself in a suit and tie. I knew I could bring that passion to tailoring suits for all,” said Dio.
Today, through The Studio Mayfair, Dio is challenging the conventional boundaries between menswear and womenswear, creating a new approach to timeless design.
Each garment is thoughtfully designed to reflect the individuality of its wearer, balancing comfort, confidence, and style while honoring the precision and artistry of fine tailoring. Sterling Dio has gone viral several times for showcasing her distinctive approach to tying a tie, further cementing her fresh perspective on modern tailoring. As the sun set, guests gathered for an evening of conversation and celebration surrounded by timeless design and effortless Hamptons charm.
The evening featured a Malfy Gin Spritz Cart, offering guests signature cocktails including the Mayfair Malfy Spritz and Malfy Rosa Sparkling Lemonade, alongside LALO Tequila cocktails throughout the evening.
