Friends of Moses Sumney and UTA filled The West Hollywood EDITION Screening Room for an exclusive screening of Blackalachia, Sumney’s directorial debut, later flowing into the hotel’s lobby for cocktails at the Lobby Bar. Guests included Chloe Wise, Nick Robinson, Samatha Urbani, Colin Caulfield, Megan Bradenburg, Malik Johnson, Nia Andrews and Justen Leroy. Blackalachia is a feature-length performance film recorded in one take atop the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina during the summer of 2020. The film premiered in December 2021 during Miami Art Week at PAMM Presents, co-presented by UTA and the Pérez Art Museum Miami.
