The Whitney Museum of American Art held two celebratory events to commemorate the completion of David Hammon’s Day’s End. Nearly seven years in the making, the renowned artist's permanent public sculpture is one of the largest public art projects completed in the United States this year. Located in Hudson River Park along the southern edge of Gansevoort Peninsula, directly across from the Whitney Museum, the monumental sculpture measures 52 feet high at its peak, 325 feet long, and 65 feet wide.
