Pininfarina, the legendary Italian design house known for shaping some of the world’s most iconic designs, celebrated its 95th anniversary with an evening of reflection, innovation, and inspiration at the Pérez Art Museum Miami. The exclusive event brought together leaders from the design, architecture, automotive, and business communities to honor nearly a century of creativity and unveil the company’s continuing vision for the future.
Since its founding in 1930 by Battista “Pinin” Farina, the company has been synonymous with elegance, innovation, and human-centered design. From the sinuous lines of classic Ferraris to visionary architectural and product design projects, the company has consistently pushed boundaries while remaining true to its guiding principle: designing the future, guided by the human experience.
Over the decades, Pininfarina’s multidisciplinary approach has expanded well beyond the automotive world, influencing architecture, transportation, product design, and user experience, partnering with world-changing brands like Coca-Cola, Lenovo, Ferrari, and more. With offices in Italy, Germany, the United States, and China, the brand has become a symbol of Italian excellence with global reach—bridging craftsmanship and technology, form and function, emotion and innovation.
The evening’s program at the Pérez Art Museum Miami reflected both Pininfarina’s heritage and its forward-looking spirit. The night’s proceedings were honorably opened by the Consul General of Italy in Miami, Hon. Michele Mistò, along with Pininfarina of America’s leadership team - Claudio Da Soller, the General Manager, Paolo Trevisan, the VP of Design, and Samuele Sordi, the Chief Architect Officer; underscoring the company’s enduring commitment to creativity and collaboration.
A highlight of the evening was the panel discussion, “A Journey Through Design: 95 Years of the Pininfarina Ecosystem,” the panel brought together C-level executives and leading voices from industries across the company’s architecture, interior design, product, industrial, and mobility design sectors. The conversation explored the evolution of Pininfarina’s design language in a rapidly changing world. Panelists reflected on how the company’s philosophy continues to shape meaningful human experiences and drive innovation across global markets.
Aligning with its goal of looking into the future, Pininfarina unveiled a new scholarship program in partnership with Istituto Marangoni Miami which consists of one full and two half tuitions for the Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design program totaling in over $100,000. The initiative will offer aspiring designers the opportunity to pursue advanced design studies, strengthening the bridge between academic excellence and real-world design innovation.
“As Pininfarina marks 95 years of design excellence, our first decade across industries all over the Americas shines with five consecutive years of double-digit growth. With over 300 projects across industries, we are now the leading name in premium branded residences and continue to be a trusted partner for Fortune 100 companies and innovators in product design and mobility,” said Claudio Da Soller, General Manager at Pininfarina of America.
To close the panel discussion, guests were treated to the teaser premiere of Pininfarina’s forthcoming documentary, Story of a Legend. Pininfarina, produced by Flair Media Production in collaboration with Rai Documentari. The film captures the people, stories, and spirit that have shaped 95 years of innovation and continue to define its vision for the next century. It is a multi-voiced mosaic reflecting the image of a strong family that has profoundly shaped Italian style.
During the cocktail reception, guests were immersed in a curated exhibition that brought Pininfarina’s multidisciplinary design legacy to life. Displayed scale models, modular furniture collections, and framed project visuals highlighted the firm’s signature approach to form and function, while a selection of Pininfarina-designed automobiles from private collectors paid homage to the company’s automotive heritage, including a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB, 2015 Ferrari Sergio, the iconic Automobili Pininfarina Battista Novantacinque, and others. Completing the experience, exclusive boats designed by Pininfarina were also displayed on the water off Miami’s Biscayne Bay, offering a striking demonstration of the brand’s timeless elegance translated across design disciplines.
