Twin changemakers Shay and Shabnam Safarzadeh hosted The Beauty of Giving Dinner at The Surf Lodge in Montauk — an intimate summer celebration supporting the Flaviana Matata Foundation’s critical WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) facilities for girls’ schools in Tanzania.
Presented by the Safar Global Foundation in partnership with FMF, the evening gathered a curated group of influential leaders from fashion, beauty, entertainment, and philanthropy for a night where style truly met substance.
Shabnam and Shay Safarzadeh were joined by Flaviana Matata, Mia Tonelli, Brandon Blackwood, Marianna Senderkis, and more.
Mia Tonelli, founder of DOCE Mezcal and a celebrated female entrepreneur with Virginia roots shared with the Safarzadeh sisters, was honored during the evening for her inspiring leadership and commitment to empowerment. Guests also received handcrafted bags from Senderkis, a female-led brand, adding a thoughtful and purposeful touch to the evening.
Set against the stunning Montauk sunset, the event raised $40,000—funds that will directly support the completion of vital WASH infrastructure scheduled to be finished this December. The dinner highlighted the power of community and the lasting impact of investing in the next generation.
