Hanna Lee Communications proudly hosted two remarkable destinations - Almanac and Ogawa Sushi & Kappo - owned by the Philadelphia-based husband-and-wife team, Vy To and Victor Ng, for a pop-up in New York City. The agency extends its gratitude to the more than 70 journalists and industry VIPs who attended and experienced this special celebration.
Almanac, an acclaimed Japanese-American speakeasy-style bar, is at the forefront of the Slow Drinks movement. It celebrates hyper-local, hyper-seasonal farmed and foraged ingredients in their sophisticated cocktails.
The event featured Almanac’s bar team, led by Danny Childs, the James Beard Award-winning author of “Slow Drinks,” and ace Philly bartender and Japanophile Rob Scott, who showcased their extraordinary libations.
The drinks were complemented by expertly prepared sushi and Japanese delicacies served by Chef Carlos Wills’ of Ogawa Sushi & Kappo, one of the city’s most esteemed omakase restaurants. Chef Carlos was personally trained by famed Chef Minoru Ogawa beginning at the age of 15.
Held at the agency’s HLC 2.0 Studio, the event featured a panel discussion moderated by Editor in Chief Michael Anstendig and President & Founder Hanna Lee. Panelists included Vy To, Danny Childs, Rob Scott, and Chef Carlos Wills, who shared insights into their unique offerings and discussed why Philadelphia stands out as a premier food and beverage destination.
