Black-ish stars Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson hosted the 15th Annual BET Awards in Los Angeles. Nicki Minaj won her sixth consecutive award for best female hip-hop artist, as well as the Coca-Cola Viewers' Choice Award. The evening was heavy with performances from industry stars including Kendrick Lamar, P. Diddy, Ne-Yo, Tori Kelly, Smokey Robinson (recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award), Robin Thicke, Jason Derulo, Ciara and R&B up-and-comer Tinashe. Sam Smith won best new artist while Janet Jackson was recognized with the Ultimate Icon Award.
