The Portrait Bar, an elegant cocktail destination in The Fifth Avenue Hotel, launched its “Raising the Bar” pop-up series with the legendary Alessandro Palazzi of London’s DUKES Bar.
The series, conceived by Bar Director Darryl Chan, brings top bar talent from across the U.S. and around the world to this elegant retreat with travel-inspired cocktails and elevated Parlor Snacks by Chef Andrew Carmellini.
Palazzi, best known for pouring some of the best Martinis on the planet, regaled more than 80 media members, trade and bar regulars over two nights, working his mixological magic from an elegant Martini cart. Now celebrating his 50th anniversary as a bartender, Palazzi also led a master class for 20 top bartenders on the iconic cocktail that has propelled his career and his distinctive approach to welcoming hospitality.
