FX celebrated the premiere of Pose – a dance musical which explores the ballroom world of New York City in the 1980s – with a ball in Harlem, NY. Working with BMF Media to conceptualize, design and produce the event, FX strategically selected the Harlem Parish – a former church turned cultural center – as the venue not onlybecause of its stunning architecture, but given Harlem’s history as the heart of the original ballroom culture.  

Vignettes throughout the space were meticulously designed to highlight the ethos of the show and pay tribute to the LGBTQ community. From a vintage make-up vanity station to a neon library with a 20-foot LED ladder, everywhere guests looked the color palate matched the energy of the ballroom world. Small details played a big role as well with props such as magazines, records and apparel sourced from the decade seen in the show that created a sense of nostalgia and authenticity.
