Café Mulberry is an all-day cafe located in Manhattan’s NoLita neighborhood from the team behind celebrity hotspot, The Mulberry. Located just above the beloved cocktail lounge, the full-service café translates The Mulberry’s buzzy, insider energy into a more understated daytime and evening setting, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service plus a dedicated coffee counter for guests on the go.
"The Mulberry became exactly what downtown needed — a nightlife spot for New Yorkers to feel at home and for visitors seeking out authentic New York cool," says Leo Jacob, Café Mulberry co-founder. "Café Mulberry captures that same spirit, just translated for the hours when the city runs on caffeine instead of cocktails."
Where The Mulberry anchors the neighborhood at night, Café Mulberry offers an all-day café format: guests can enjoy freshly baked goods from La Bicyclette Bakery, coffee from SEY, Champagne, wine, and frosé from the creator himself, Justin Sievers. Café Mulberry operates as a full-service restaurant, but its street-facing counter serves coffee, pastries, and baguettes for those seeking a quick grab-and-go option. The private outdoor garden mirrors the “if you know, you know” exclusivity of the lounge below, offering a chic backdrop for guests who want to see and be seen.
Helmed by Chef Nicole Gajadhar, Café Mulberry’s daytime menu offers a French-inspired take on anytime dining, beginning with Bread, Butter & Radishes and moving into morning staples like the Sandwich du Matin with jambon, egg, gruyère, espelette butter, and fig jam, and perfectly soft-boiled Egg Soldiers with chive. Guests will find a rotating Quiche du Jour, and a Tartine with smoked salmon with avocado, remoulade, dill, and shallots. Signatures such as the Jambon Beurre on baguette and the Croque Monsieur served on brioche with béchamel and gruyère, with the option to make it a Madame anchor the menu, while smaller plates such as the Oeufs Mimosa topped with smoked trout roe, French Onion Soup, and a bright Salade Verte round out the offering. For something heartier, the café serves a classic Shrimp Cocktail and a Hanger Steak with salad, cornichons, capers, shallots, Calabrian chili, and crostini.
For dinner, an abundant spread of hors d’oeuvres rooted in French bistro tradition, including Caviar Service, Smoked Trout Rillettes, Tuna Tartare prepared tableside, Hamachi, Steak Tartare, Foie Gras Torchon, French Onion Soup, and an impressive Plateau de la Mer. Main dishes lean comforting and familiar, with highlights such as Coquillettes aux Champignons with black truffle, Carrot Vadouvan, Loup de Mer with beurre maître d’hôtel, Poulet Rôti, and a prime New York Strip Steak au poivre. End on a sweet note with with Profiteroles au Chocolat, seasonal Gelato and Sorbet, Berries and Crème, and Affogato, alongside a low-ABV, European café–inspired cocktail list featuring aperitif-forward spritzes, classic beer-based drinks, and understated spirit-forward options.
True to The Mulberry's philosophy of genuine connection, the café will maintain a strict no-laptop policy. Rather than mimic a co-working space, Café Mulberry will offer a pause from the city’s pace, an airy space to slow down with a French press, trade conversation and reset before stepping back into the noise.
The café’s design elements channel a European sensibility while remaining distinctly New York. Inside, warm wood floors, soft globe lighting, and marble café tables will complement patterned wallpaper by Morris & Co, and a striking green marble bar for an interior that’s both timeless and modern. A private garden patio will offer a serene, urban retreat from the city’s constant hum. Ivy-covered brick, verdant lounge seating, and a communal fireplace surrounded by café tables make it a coveted and inviting spot for guests to linger al fresco from morning to afternoon.
The Mulberry's co-founders, Leo Jacob (celebrity portrait photographer and strategic advisor/partner at Savas), Phil Meynell (creative director), and Justin Sievers (partner at Bar Primi), conceived this new concept as part of downtown's ongoing renaissance. Having already established their subterranean space as a beloved nightlife destination, the trio has now set their sights on the morning-to-evening scene with Café Mulberry.
