Founders David Belt and Scott Cohen hosted an intimate preview dinner for New Lab, a first-of-its-kind center for advanced technology in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Guests such as Paola Antonelli (MoMA), Jessica Banks (RockPaperRobot), Marcel Botha (10xBeta), Ronda Carnegie (New Lab), Perry Chen (Kickstarter), Lindy Roy (Architect), David & Jane Walentas (Two Trees Management) and more, toured New Lab and previewed awe-inspiring member innovations on display – such as Honeybee Robotics’ space drill, the first machine ever to go inside the rocks on Mars; Nanotronics’ nSpec 3D microscope, one of the many advanced microscopes they bring to every manufacturing sector; StrongArm Tech’s V22 Ergo Skeleton device designed to protect industrial workers; The Light Phone, a slim credit card-sized phone that enables simple contact without the distraction; and Terreform ONE’s biodegradable, waste- and pollution-free Mushroom chaise seat.
